More Billy Childish

The Immaculate Fools

This bunch obviously deserve a mention :)

More of The Dentists

I'd still say that The Dentists are my joint-favourite ever Medway band...sharing the crown with the disgustingly brilliant Cenet Rox....led by the very talented Nic Hughes.

Random Pages...who gives a shit?

Just 2 random pages from my old scrap-book. One has the lyric to a song I wrote for Acceleration... which we used to do live..called "Talking To A Schizophrenic"
The other page has a bit of The Dentists, a bit of Unit 37, a bit of Shalamar and a bit of news about the legendary local manager/promoter known as "TRICK"
Does anyone know if Trick is still around?

Terry Lowe R.I.P.

This story caught my eye in the 80's and I wanted to kinda keep the man's memory alive a little. Terry Lowe...vocalist for The Barrons...and Telegraph...who sadly died of lung cancer..aged 36. Hope you're having fun up there, man:(

A COUPLE OF GIG GUIDES

Here's a couple of gig-guides...how many bands do you recall?
LEFT-CLICK ON CUTTING TO ENLARGE :)

The Daggermen

Another great band from the Medway Delta. (damn...I hate saying that medway delta thing...how cheap in the field of description)
They always looked sharp...and the melodies were sharper. Any updates?

Judith Mullarky and Co

Judith was hot
Um..here's a few of her band connections

A LITTLE REMINDER FROM MEEEEE

IF YOU HAVE ANY PICS OR NEWSPAPER CUTTINGS THAT YOU WANT ON HERE PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE TO SOURCE THEM. I'M TRYING TO KEEP IT ALL AS PRESS-CUTTINGS FROM THE LOCAL SCENE...WITH A SPRINKLING OF OTHER BITS TO PAD IT OUT.
ANY PRESS PHOTOS..FROM YOUR PHOTO SESSIONS...THE MORE GLOSSY THE BETTER..WOULD BE AWESOME.

Thank You...from Andy Export

Better Than Sex/John's Best Girl

Garrick Welch...is that right? Invented the Donny Tourette look a decade and a half before the Towers of London frontman. I always thought that Better Than Sex was a bit of an optimistic name for a band...but they got away with it. Maybe their music WAS better than sex...depends who you have the sex with, I guess.

Blah Blah Blah

I really have no fucking idea who this lot are...but they looked sharp....coulda been interesting??? I'd love to find these dudes and get them to pose for these pics..as they are now. A before and after type thing. Before they knew they'd never make it..and after they realised they didn't. Only in jest guys. ;)

Apricot Brigade

I saw the Apricot Brigade a few times...though it's all hazy cos it was my apple-bobbing period. I know that the wonderful Porl Mercer was singing..and I'm pretty dead-cert that Pres was plucking the Ernie Balls on bass...after the Martini Slutz split up. Great band...what's Porl up to now?

The Prisoners

There's not a lot I need to say about The Prisoners...I don't want to sound like I know what I'm talking about....I just rock out to them anyway.

Johnny Seven

I didn't mind J7, at all....though some would say they didn't fit in with things round here...lol
Their cassette EP was rather pop-magnifico pleasant...with tracks including

Don't Call Me Alan
Kill My Car
Strange Train
Colleen (i think that was the title)

Steaming Towards Oslo

I recall doing a few gigs with STO...one at King Charles Hotel...that's for sure.

So...what are any of this lot up to now?

Heroic Six Axe

Anyone witness one of the Heroic Six Axe "gigs" ? Very entertaining.
According to one very reliable report the barmaid at the Churchills gig begged to be sentupstairs to work whils Piggy and Dennis and co were performing. She got her wish, too. It was a novel and brave approach to music though....so hats off to the guys....and it proves that music isn't always as bad as it sounds ;)

Death In Venice etc

Death In Venice....Split

DEATH IN VENICE

Solo Again
